About Nia Hefe Filiogianni

Nia Hefe Filiogianni (b. 1990, Athens, Greece) is a Greek visual artist and curator, living and working between Athens and London. She holds a BA (Hons) in Visual Arts and Art History from Deree, The American College of Greece, and an MA in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, both with a distinction and a scholarship.

Working across painting, mixed media and hand-stitched textile collage, her artistic practice examines institutional power, collective memory and the politics of everyday life. Combining recycled textiles, painting and symbolic imagery, she explores how political and economic structures shape individual and collective experience. Drawing on semiotics, Greek mythology and cultural memory, her work constructs layered visual narratives in which textiles serve as both material and metaphor.

Her work has been exhibited internationally in London, Los Angeles, Mexico City and Athens, including her 2024 duo exhibition Interwoven at Proyecto H in Mexico City. Her wider artistic career includes collaborations with the British Museum and the Royal Academy of Arts. She has received several distinctions, including recognition in the Diversity & Inclusion 50 Powerlist 2024, and has been featured in publications including Vogue Greece, Bricks Magazine and CNN Greece.

Alongside her artistic practice, she is the founder and director of Cream Athens, an art advisory and curatorial platform operating between Athens and London. Through exhibitions, artist development, cultural programming and art advisory, the platform supports contemporary artists and connects them with international audiences and collectors. Her recent curatorial projects include Loop State (2026), presented at D Contemporary in London.
